It's been awhile since I posted a skincare-specific post. Summer is now over, and I finally finished a good portion of my skincare haul from my previous Seoul beauty trip in June.
Only one new product actually made it in rotation this time around. It was Cellapy's A Repair+ Cream. Cellapy is Korean dermatologist-developed skincare line formulated specifically for sensitive skin. I'm not the biggest fan of creams because they tend to clog my incredibly small pores, but this product is apparently one of the best-selling products in Korea. Like any cream, this is applied as a last step in your regimen (or before your sunscreen). The active ingredients are niacinamide (2%), dimethicone (1.7%) and panthenol (0.2%). The packaging is an aluminum tube that makes it easy to travel with.
Thank You Farmer makes an incredible good sunscreen, and luckily, I have an extra one. Even though it's a cream, it's very light and absorbs very quickly. It's more hydrating and creamier than the popular Biore SaraSara UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence from Japan. I've used their sun essence before which is more like a fluid. It also smells like apricots which makes this really pleasant to put on my face.
Some of my other favorites include Banila Co's Clean It Zero Purity (an oil-based sherbet cleanser to remove makeup), CosRX's AHA/BHA toner (great for all skin types and always recommended to those new to K-beauty), and Cremorlab's Mineral Treatment Essence. Cremorlab's Mineral Treatment Essence is incredibly hydrating and helped smooth and brighten my skin tone and texture during the summer. I put the essence in a small spritzer bottle and carry it with me everywhere for a quick hydrating and glow boost for my skin.
I've also been testing the final versions of our new products for EVENPRIME, a new men's skincare line I've been developing with my youngest brother. We've formulated these products for young men who have sensitive oily/combination skin like my brother. The cleanser is a basic foaming cleanser with only 10 ingredients where a little goes a long way. The moisturizer is based on the popular "all-in-one" moisturizer among men in Korea where it replaces your toner, essence, serum and moisturizer in one step.
